Dry Eye Management

Dry eye is a growing dysfunction because the root cause is often too many hours of screen time. Who doesn’t work on a screen most of the day? The problem starts because the number of blinks for computer users can diminish from about 15,000 blinks daily to as little as 4,000 blinks daily. This causes tears to evaporate and tear glands to become inflamed as they try to keep up. This evaporative dry eye and MGD (meibomian gland dysfunction) can be treated. Eye Q has technology to be able to image tear glands. We offer two in-office procedures to treat the most common types of dry eye, “TearCare” and “iLux”.
The doctors at Eye Q will work with each patient to determine an individualized dry eye treatment plan of other-the-counter eye drops, which ones are best, refitting to more appropriate contact lens materials and modalities, and a combination of home remedy and in office procedures to best manage your dry eye.
